Mason Tenders’ District Council Trust Funds

Annuity

The Mason Tenders’ District Council Annuity Fund is designed to provide income that supplements pension and Social Security benefits in retirement. There are limited circumstances when a working participant may apply for a withdrawal from his or her Annuity Fund account to cover hardship or other expenses.

Contributions

Employers are required to make contributions to the Fund on behalf of employees who work in covered employment, as required by the applicable collective bargaining agreement or participation agreement. The Fund’s assets are invested with the goal of growing participant accounts over time. Participants are not required (or permitted) to contribute to the Fund.

Annuity Account Benefit

A participant is immediately 100% “vested” in all contributions made to his or her account under the Fund. This means that you don’t have to work a specified number of years in covered employment to be eligible to receive your account when you become entitled to a benefit in accordance with the Fund’s rules.

The value of your account depends on the amount of employer contributions received on your behalf, the net investment return (earnings or losses, adjusted by administrative expenses) allocated to your account, and whether you have received any withdrawals from your account. Accounts are valued monthly as of the last day of each calendar month.
